Match Report

Down the coast at Noarlunga, where the cold weather would have had more bite to it, the Panthers played host to the Double Blues. Those expecting the weather to have an impact were going to be sorely mistaken, as once again the might of the Panthers was shown in full force in similar style to what they did to Port Adelaide.

They began proceedings by booting 9.1 to Sturt's 1.2 in the first term, up by 47 points at quarter time. The Blues were just helpless to halt the South Adelaide onslaught, again only scoring 1.2 while the Panthers went about their merry and destructive way, scoring 6.2 in the second term to be up by 77 points at half time. Nothing much changed for the rest of the day. When play resumed for the second half, the Panthers had another six goal haul up their sleeve, Sturt managing 3.4 to be down by 91 points at three quarter time. It was basically a shootout in the last term, both sides bagging five goals, as South again sent a brutal message to rest of the competition with their 15-goal win.

Damian Cupido really proved his worth that day, bagging best afield honours and 11 goals. Ben Colreavy was Sturt's only shining light for the day.
