At the House Brothers Oval, the Double Blues were about to have a walk in the park against the Panthers. Sturt have the Eagles to thank for still being on top of the ladder, after a bye and a win against Port at Alberton. And what's to say about South? Humbled on home turf against Centrals and Westies in consecutive weeks and their last win back in Round 18.
The dismantling didn't occur right away, the Panthers showing at least a little fight in the first term to be behind by just 13 points at quarter-time. But then the destruction began in earnest in the second term, the Blues keeping the Panthers to just two behinds whilst slotting through 5.2 for themselves to be up by 43 points at the long break. The Blues' third quarter was less productive, you could be forgiven for thinking they were toying with the Panthers a little bit here as they kicked an inaccurate 3.6 to South's one behind. It would go down as the South Adelaide Football Club's worst day for 2008, another goal-fest (and behind-fest) for the Double Blues -- 9.8 to 1.1 -- saw them take out a massive 121-point win.
The Blues named the 'Sarge' Ian Perrie as their best afield, while James Boyd was South's only real shining light.
