Before joining Richmond Arthur Danks played for Port Melbourne juniors from 1908 to 1910. His VFL career with the Wasps spanned the years 1911 to 1915, in which he played 48 games and kicked two goals. Equally at home in the centre or across half back, he was the epitome of robust physical fitness and his distribution skills were first rate.
