Bert Champion was a handy rover and wingman who played 68 VFL games and kicked 35 goals for Collingwood between 1960 and 1966. He was 20th man in the Magpies’ losing grand final team against Melbourne in 1960, while four years later, when the result was repeated, he lined up on a wing. After leaving Collingwood he played 14 games and kicked 19 goals for VFA first division side Preston in 1967-8.
