Brad Sholl was drafted by North Melbourne from Horsham but in three seasons with the Kangas only played a couple of senior games. In 1995 he was swapped for Robert Scott of Geelong and soon found a niche as a permanent back pocket with the Cats. He played in a grand final team in his first season but Geelong lost to Carlton and Sholl himself put in a dire performance. This was very much a rare occurrence though, and a year later he was runner-up in the club’s best and fairest award. An imposing on field presence, he played 169 AFL games and kicked 46 goals with the Cats between 1995 and 2002.
