Brad Wira was a tough, gritty, workmanlike defender who peaked during his time with Footscray/Western Bulldogs where he played 61 AFL games and kicked four goals between 1996 and 1998. Prior to that he had played with Claremont, starting in 1992, as well as one AFL game with Fremantle in 1995.
Once his AFL career was over Wira returned to Western Australia, joining South Fremantle for the 1999 season. However, after playing just one game for the Bulldogs he returned to Claremont to round off his career. The last of his 122 games for the club was the losing grand final of 2004 against Subiaco. He kicked 42 goals. During the course of his career he played three times for Western Australia, including a state of origin clash with South Australia at Football Park in 1998.
