Capable of playing anywhere in the backlines, and also capable of taking a turn up forward when required, Brian Davie was a valuable player for Richmond during a generally dismal time for the club. Rugged and determined, he was a master at restricting his direct opponent’s access to the ball.
Between 1953 and 1959 Davie played 89 VFL games and kicked 36 goals for the Tigers with not a single one of his appearances being in a final. He also played once for Victoria.
