Lightly built at 175cm and 70kg Frank Ryan progressed straight from Richmond’s thirds to the seniors in his debut season of 1951. Most of his football was played on the wing, a position to which his pace and nimbleness made him admirably suited. His seven season stint with the Tigers saw him play 62 games and score four goals. He was a member of Richmond’s 1954 and 1955 reserve grade flag-winning teams.
