George Hoskins was a highly creative, stay at home centreman who was a key contributor to Fitzroy’s last ever VFL grand final win over Richmond in 1944. A fortnight earlier in the second semi final he had also been among the ‘Roys’ stars against the same opposition.
Between 1942 and 1947 Hoskins played 72 VFL games and kicked one goal for Fitzroy. He represented Victoria in 1946. After leaving the ‘Roys he joined Warragul.
