A mercurial all rounder, who joined Essendon from Narrandera, George Pattinson carved out a fine VFL career spanning the years 1934 to 1942, during which he played 67 games and scored 17 goals. He missed the whole of the 1938 season with an injured arm, and in 1941 he played 11 games and kicked two goals for Williamstown before resuming with the Dons. After the second world war he played a couple of seasons with Essendon’s seconds.
