After being rejected by Essendon Jim Wynd bounced back to enjoy a fine career with Fitzroy, for whom he played 137 V/AFL games and kicked 62 goals. Often described as ‘terrier-like’ he bored in hard for the ball and used it well. He was particularly effective as a tagger. He played for Central District after leaving the Lions and was highly impressive. He was unfortunate to miss a place in the Bulldogs’ inaugural grand final team in 1995 owing to injury.
