Peter Czerkaski was a useful half back flanker and tagger who had considerable pace and was adept at reading the play. He fell pray to injury problems at times which limited his V/AFL appearances to 46 between 1985 and 1990. He booted the only goal of his Tigers career in his very first match.
Cleared to Sandringham in 1991, he was a prominent player for the club in 70 VFA games over four seasons. For much of his time with the Zebras he played in the hitherto unaccustomed position of full back and was much admired for his ability to run the ball out of defence and create opportunities for his forwards. Czerkaski was a member of Sandringham’s 1992 and 1994 premiership-winning combinations.
