Tasman Roberts was a useful ruckman, forward and occasional defender who acquitted himself well at league level with two clubs. Having played in the Victorian Junior Football Association with Prahran he was recruited by St Kilda in 1925, and went on to play 41 VFL games and score 22 goals for the club over three seasons. A single season stint with Fitzroy followed, during which he played 17 games and kicked 10 goals. He crossed to Yarraville in the VFA to round off his playing career with 33 games and 22 goals in 1929-30. He was later to die of starvation whilst a prisoner of the Japanese in world war two.
