Geelong’s Terry Callan was a highly skilled back pocket specialist who handled the ball well and used it intelligently. He was simultaneously capable of restricting the effectiveness of his direct opponent, and starting many an attacking foray by the Cats. He played 62 VFL games and scored five goals for Geelong from 1960 to 1964. He also played twice for Victoria. He was forced out of the Cats’ 1963 premiership-winning team with a serious knee injury.
