Wally Scott was a rare shining light at St Kilda during a predominantly dire period for the club. Between 1904 and 1911 he played 108 VFL games and kicked 4 goals. Extremely pacy and elusive and boasting considerable courage he played virtually all his football as a wingman. When the Saints made a rare finals appearance in 1907 Scott was one of his team’s best in a losing semi final clash with Carlton. It was a similar story the following year as the Saints again failed to negotiate their first hurdle of the finals against John Worrall’s mighty Blues.
