Arthur Cleghorn was a clever and highly productive rover who was among the stars in Essendon’s 1897 premiership win. He topped the Same Old’s goal kicking list in 1899 with 15 goals. After 61 VFL games and 53 goals for the Dons he crossed to VFA club Richmond where the last of his 20 appearances came in the 1905 grand final defeat of North Melbourne.
