Jade Sheedy was one of the foremost Sturt footballers, and indeed, SANFL footballers, of the 2000s decade. The Blues’ 2008 skipper made his senior debut for the club in 2000, and subsequently achieved virtually everything he would have wanted in the game, including the 2002 Magarey Medal (shared with teammate Tim Weatherald), best and fairest awards in 2004, 2006 and 2008, participation in Sturt’s 2002 Grand Final triumph which came against Centrals, and captaincy of both club and state. He called time on an illustrious career at the end of the 2012 season.
