John Bubner was a highly effective knock ruckman who gave sterling service to North Adelaide in 109 SANFL games between 1957 and 1962. He led the rucks in the Roosters 1960 grand final defeat of Norwood and also played state football for South Australia. His son Peter maintained the family tradition by playing in excess of 200 league games with Central District and Sturt.
