Robert 'Peter Pindar' Wallace

Robert Wallace (aka ‘Peter Pindar’) was one of the Australasian’s impressive and influential stable of commentators and perhaps the most significant in the sense that he wrote at a time when the game was evolving from a minor sport in the 1860s to the winter game of Southern Australia in the mid-1880s. He set the standard for football writing for the next 50 years.
