Probably better known as a cricketer, in which sport he played more than 100 first class matches for Western Australia, Ian Brayshaw also enjoyed a memorable football career with Claremont. Between 1961 and 1966 he played 72 WANFL games, mainly as a defender, and booted 20 goals, with the highlight coming in 1964 when he lined up on a half back flank in the Tigers’ 14.18 to 15.8 grand final defeat of East Fremantle.
