Taken at number five in the 2006 National Draft, ex-Geelong Falcon Travis Boak made his AFL debut for Port Adelaide in Round 12, 2007 and immediately established himself as a midfield regular. He played in that season's Grand Final - unfortunately a day to forget as the Power was trounced by Geelong to the tune of 119 points - and would have been one of the first players named in the side in the opening round of the following season.

The following few years were lean for the club but Boak was a consistently fine player throughout this period, After jointly winning  the club best and fairest award with Jackson Trengove in 2012, Boak was appointed captain of Port Adelaide when Ken Hinkley came on board as coach. Under the new leadership, Port's fortunes turned dramatically, as the Power finished fifth in 2013 and came within a kick of eventual premiers Hawthorn in the 2014 Preliminary Final.

Boak has thrived as captain, and was named All Australian in both 2013 and 2014.
