About Me

I have been a passionate footy follower all my life. I was knitted a Central District Gunsey (Mini one) for my first birthday in 1978 by my now late nanna. I have sporadically over a number of years, been researching the game of Australian Rules in South Australia in the early years from 1860-1906. Thankfully I'm not the only one with this passion and interest. I have filled a notebook on the Adelaide Football Club (19th Century version) and am trolling through the SA Register from 1877-1906, to collate season summaries of the SAFA during those years. I am also looking to write a History of Kensington Oval (Adelaide) from 1865-Present. This is all during my study breaks, I'm at University in my final year of a Bachelor of Laws (2012) and also hope to finish my Master of Urban and Regional Planning (2013).

Favourite Players

John Platten , Michael Aish, Gilbert McAdam, Garry Ablett Snr, Michael Tuck, Andrew McLeod, Andrew and Darren Jarman, James and Chris Gowans, Scott Lee, Leigh Matthews, Wilbur Wilson, Michael Long, Malcolm Blight, Rudi Mandermaker, Gavin Chaplin

Favourite Moment

Final Siren 2000 SANFL Grand Final - U Dogs ! Finally won a Premiership. 2004 SANFL Grand Final - Complete Domination, never seen anything like it, nor probably will again. 2000-2011 (2012?) SANFL Grand Finals, Central District Football Club league team play in 12 straight possibly 13 straight League Grand Finals, an Australian Senior League Record that probably won't be matched ever! 1997 AFL Prelimanary Final - The Adelaide Crows - into their first Grand Final - what an extraordinary finish. 1997 AFL Grand Final - The Adelaide Crows won ! Amazing! 1998 AFL Grand Final - The Adelaide Crows went Back-to-Back, awesome. 2000 AFL Qualifying Final - Essendon v North Melbourne - Kinda like the 2004 SANFL Grand Final - Complete Domination in a final - Essendon were simply awesome that year! Better single season than any other club in AFL History, even Collingwood - circa late 1920's or Geelong 2007 - 2011. 1984 and 1999 SANFL Grand Finals - Norwood / Port Adelaide Magpies - Each club one each of these, Norwood 1984 - Port 1999. Close, hard contests, great to watch traditional rivals.
